Hunting with Others - Day 19
Fellowship and Shared Faith
Scripture (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10): “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”
Reflection: There’s something deeply satisfying about solo hunts — the solitude, the quiet, the long stretches of thought. But if you’ve ever hunted side-by-side with someone you trust, you know a different kind of richness.
Shared stories. Shared effort. Shared silence. You split the pack-out. You take turns on the glass. One boils coffee while the other builds the fire. You laugh when things go sideways, and you cover each other’s back when the wind shifts.
Hunting with others teaches you something important: you weren’t meant to do this alone.
The same is true in your walk with Christ. Ecclesiastes reminds us that two are better than one — not just for success, but for support. We all stumble. We all get discouraged. And when we do, God often uses the people beside us to lift us up, speak truth, or simply remind us we’re not forgotten.
Faith was never meant to be a solo pursuit. We need people to help carry the weight, to pray when we can’t find the words, to sit with us around the fire and say, “I’ve been there too.” And we need to be that person for someone else.
So, whether you’re walking a mountain ridge or just navigating a hard season of life — don’t go it alone. Invite someone in. And be the kind of companion who walks slow enough to stay beside the weary, and strong enough to carry their pack when needed.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of fellowship. For the brothers and sisters, You place in my path — not to impress, but to walk with. Teach me to value community. To let others into my story, my struggles, and my faith. Help me resist the pull toward isolation and independence. I want to walk with others, as You walk with me. And show me today who I might encourage, serve, or simply sit beside — not with answers, but with presence.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
