Do You Believe?

Do You Believe?

Before I tell you our story about the white feathers, I want to ask you a few questions.

And I don’t want you to answer them out loud— I want you to answer them honestly in your heart.

Do you believe in GOD… Jehovah… Yahweh?

Do you believe in God—the Creator of all—whose presence weaves through the fabric of our existence, inviting us into a relationship that transcends the boundaries of the seen and the unseen?

Do you believe that Jesus Christ was His only begotten Son? Sent to bridge the vast expanse between humanity and divinity—offering Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins—and opening the way to eternal life?

Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the divine Trinity? A constant companion and guide, who empowers, teaches, convicts, and intercedes for us in the journey of faith?

Do you believe there is a devil named Satan who seeks to kill, steal, and destroy? A fallen angel turned adversary, whose aim is to lead us away from the truth and into darkness?

Do you believe in Heaven and Hell—the final destinations that await every one of us—one a place of eternal joy and presence with God, and the other separation from God, despair, and eternal damnation?

And finally… do you absolutely know—without a doubt—that when you die, you will go to Heaven?

These questions are not rhetorical. They are invitations.

They are invitations to explore the depths of our beliefs… to confront our uncertainties… and to seek a deeper understanding of the divine truths that shape our existence—and our destiny.

Because whether you identify as a believer, an unbeliever, a doubter, an atheist, an agnostic, or a skeptic… there’s a common thread among us all:

You believe in something.

And it’s within that wide spectrum of belief and disbelief that the true story of the white feathers unfolds—a narrative that extends an invitation to glimpse the supernatural realm that undeniably exists.

Let me say what this story is rooted in.

There is a God. Jesus Christ is His one and only begotten Son. The Holy Spirit is alive and active in this world. Heaven and Hell are real. And Satan is real.

And you—at your core—are a spirit being… temporarily residing in a physical “earthly suit” called a body.

You possess a soul—the seat of your mind, will, and emotions. And when you die… your spirit and soul depart from your body and face eternity.

That leads to one of two destinations: Ascending into Heaven—into the light—the presence of God…or descending into the pit of Hell—to face eternal darkness.

Now I know what some people say.

A common rebuttal is: “Well, I’m a good person.”

But Jesus addressed that directly. John 14:6—Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Not through being “good enough.” Not through good deeds. Not through a family name. Not through church attendance.

Through Jesus.

Now let’s talk about God Himself. The Bible presents God as eternal—uncreated—outside of time and space.

Psalm 90:2 says: “From everlasting to everlasting you are God.”

Revelation 1:8 says: “I am the Alpha and the Omega… who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

And the Bible opens with the simplest, strongest statement imaginable:

Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

And yet, even though He is infinite and eternal, He is also personal.

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son…”

And He is present. Psalm 139:7: “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?”

So here’s what I’m telling you this morning:

God is real. God is near. And God still speaks.

And sometimes… He whispers in ways that you cannot explain away.
